About the role
Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer in the Engineering Sector in Windsor, Ontario. Our engineering client is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to design and oversee building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and energy conservation initiatives. The role involves technical consultation, project documentation, client liaison, and field support. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of experience, strong Revit and AutoCAD skills, and a passion for innovative engineering solutions.
A Typical Day
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for various building types.
- Develop technical reports, engineering documents, and value engineering analyses.
- Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure project scope compliance.
- Provide field consultation and troubleshoot mechanical system issues.
- Assist in developing scopes of work and bid packages.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and field reports to meet project timelines.
- Support mechanical cost estimating and budgeting.
- Maintain and improve engineering standards and best practices.
Successful Candidates Will Have
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Technologist Diploma.
- Valid P.Eng or CET in Ontario, or actively pursuing designation.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360 (preferred).
- Familiarity with codes and standards (OBC, NBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, etc.).
- Experience in educational, commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
