TAG Hardware designs, engineers, and manufactures products for the closet and modular furniture industry. Our 70,000 square foot brand new manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey, British Columbia. The facility also houses our head office, plastic injection molding machines, assembly work stations, and a warehouse, where we develop and produce our patented products for customers globally.

About the Role - Job Description

Reporting directly to the Senior Production Manager. Attitude, dedication and the ability to learn are the most important qualities we are looking for. For the right candidate, we are willing to provide on-site training and in house certification.

Areas of Responsibility

• Operating the machines within the established operating procedures, safely and properly.
• Removing and replacing all materials at machines during new job start-ups and continually monitoring machines during the shift to make sure materials and job- related supplies are available during operations.
• Tending to the operator station by packaging and moving finished product and sorting it to the proper finished goods area.
• Operating machines including but not limited to robotic powder coating line
• Update Production manager on issues or concerns, contributing to process improvement and optimal team functioning
• Work with all team members to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding customer expectations

Duties

• Operating equipment safely and efficiently including - initiating action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity while ensuring quality levels are maintained and continuously improved.
• Performing a walk around to all machines
• Ensuring all jobs are per control plans.
• Prepping material and running machines as per daily operations plan
• Cleaning up anything that may have spilled.
• Always properly checking material in and out of warehouse.
• Moving all product safely and efficiently
• Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work area
• Maintaining warehouse order
• Participating in process Improvement by communicating to manager and/or team lead
• Assisting in the training of personnel as needed
• Operating other equipment as required.
• Assisting team members in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
• All other duties as assigned

About you - Competencies and Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience of 5+ years in the manufacturing industry would be considered an asset.
• Be able to communicate well with management and staff in a team environment.
• Be able to safely operate machines, including troubleshooting.
• Be able to operate a hand drill, rivet gun, or other equipment.
• Be able to read operating procedures, order sheets and labels.
• Be able to perform 5S duties of cleaning, sorting, setting in order, standardizing, and sustaining.
• Be able to lift 30kg.
• Be able to use equipment safely including pallet jack, sit down counter balance, swing reach, stand up forklifts (inhouse training provided)
• Be able to calculate basic math equations
• Be able to perform other assignments as required to fulfill the daily work.
• Knowledge running a powder coating line would be considered an asset.

Work Hours

This is a full-time shift position as a part of our Operations Team. Days of work are Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. Orientation and training will be provided.
