About the role

Description: The Surgical Processor is responsible for the decontamination, reprocessing, and distribution of a variety of sterile and non-sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Successful completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Program (including successful completion of practicum placement) required A Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician certificate program from a recognized institution. Current certification with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices. Familiarity with sterilization methods, reprocessing equipment, and quality assurance protocols. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working within an MDRD as well as previous experience with Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) Instrument Tracking
