The Opportunity
We are hiring a Junior Protection & Control Field Specialist to support field commissioning and testing activities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in substation environments and power system protection.
Responsibilities
Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of: Protective relays, RTUs, and communication equipment Support testing of: Feeders, transformers, breakers, and substation systems Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics Assist with relay testing (SEL, GE) under supervision Collect and document field data and test results Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle Follow all safety procedures and company standards Qualifications
1–3 years of relevant experience (co-op/internship considered) Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar field Basic knowledge of power systems is an asset Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills Safety-conscious and detail-oriented Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across BC Legally authorized to work in Canada
