About the role

What you’ll do

Our Finance team plays a key role in helping us stay competitive in the ever-changing retail environment by providing accurate, timely, and high-quality financial planning & reporting, analysis, and advice. Reporting to the AVP, Corporate FP&A, this role helps drive the organization to achieve its financial and strategic targets by designing and operating effective performance management reporting and corporate planning process and messaging our financial story both internally and externally to the CFO and the Board of Directors.

This position supports the Corporate FP&A function for CTC by delivering seamless, transparent, flexible, and timely forward looking financial and business information, as well as actionable value-added business insights to key executive decision makers. Critical to the role is building strong relationships with the wider FP&A organization, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury, HR and Accounting and guiding the key planning processes to deliver the objectives set by the executive team, and the company’s strategy. Key customers are the executive team, CEO, CFO and Board of directors. This role is accountable for developing the talent on the Corporate FP&A team through instilling a passion for continuous improvement and professional development.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead the preparation of meaningful and innovative internal and external performance reporting that communicates the story behind the financial performance of the Company to senior management, the Board of Directors, and investors.
  • Oversee the in-depth analysis of the consolidated results of the organization, providing valuable insights
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization for all relevant fiscal cycles - the delivery of ‘accurate, timely, complete and relevant’ enterprise level plans and forecasts to key stakeholders including CT’s executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Provide actionable value-added business insights to the CFO, CEO, and Executive team
  • Build strong cross functional relationships with key areas including FP&A, Accounting, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury and HR
  • Provide finance support to HR’s Executive Compensation team and the Management Resource and Compensation Committee (MRCC) by leading the reporting, planning and forecast of CTC’s variable compensation programs
  • Provide leadership and overall direction by leading and fostering a high-performance team with a continuous improvement mindset and inclusive working environment.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional accounting/financial designation (CPA), or Post Graduate Degree (MBA) considered an asset
  • 5 to 7+ years progressive experience in finance roles, including management experience
  • Reporting and forecasting experience, as well as experience with financial modeling, with with the ability to focus on both the detail and big picture.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead high performing teams to success
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in particular the ability to story tell.
  • Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management and PeopleSoft is considered an asset
