Job Description
Are you drawn to large-scale public transit infrastructure projects, including complex underground works, metro stations, technical buildings, and highly coordinated environments? Do you want to leverage your expertise in site supervision on a major project, where technical rigor, field judgment, and multidisciplinary coordination are key to success? Are you recognized for your ability to manage complex on-site issues, ensure work compliance, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams? Do you stand out for your sense of responsibility, autonomy, and ability to act quickly and efficiently in a demanding environment? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you may be the person we are looking for! Lemay’s public transit infrastructure projects are designed to transform living environments sustainably: they promote mobility, create accessible and inclusive spaces, and align with a long-term vision integrating environmental, social, and economic dimensions. As part of the construction of the new Vertières metro station on Montréal’s Blue Line (an STM project), you will play a central on-site resident role, directly contributing to the architectural quality, compliance, and overall performance of the project, particularly in relation to Envision certification objectives.
What You Will Accomplish With Us
Work Supervision and Compliance Ensure a daily presence on site to verify compliance of work with plans, specifications, and contractual requirements. Perform architectural supervision of the infrastructures involved (tunnels, station entrances, emergency exits from platforms, etc.). Identify non-conformities and follow up until resolution. Track deficiencies, conduct pre-acceptance inspections, and oversee project acceptance. Ensure compliance with STM design standards and criteria (NCC).
Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting
Produce site visit reports, meeting minutes, and technical follow-ups. Review shop drawings, technical sheets, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change notices, and make recommendations to the team lead. Maintain and communicate rigorous documentation using PLB document management platforms (Unifier).
Communication and Coordination
Actively participate in site and coordination meetings with STM, contractors, and project office professionals for the Blue Line Extension (PLB). Work closely with multidisciplinary teams from other disciplines (Civil, Structural—building/tunnel, Mechanical, Electrical, Motorized Systems, etc.).
Qualifications
University degree in Architecture and/or college diploma (DEC) in Architectural Technology. Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in site supervision of major transportation infrastructure, institutional, and/or heavy industrial projects. Experience in complex industrial/civil environments with strict contractual requirements, including managing non-conformities and claims. Excellent knowledge of construction processes, site supervision, and quality control (Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Deliverables Register, etc.). Knowledge of STM Design Standards and Criteria (NCC) and document management systems (DMS) – an asset. Familiarity with BIM tools and digital coordination platforms. Experience working with large public or parapublic organizations such as the STM. Experience in daily coordination with contractors, engineers, and client representatives in a multidisciplinary context. Experience in full-time on-site resident roles on major public construction sites. Strong technical analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills. Rigor, autonomy, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously. Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken, as you will be collaborating with Québec-based teams.
Additional Information
