Job Details

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Caretaker. Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreation Infrastructure, this position will be responsible for providing a full range of cleaning services at Recreation & Parks Department operated facilities to ensure patrons and employees have a clean environment and to ensure event/booking requirements are met in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 10 education is required with one year of custodial/commercial cleaning experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be familiar with OHS standards with health/safety being a major priority.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at multi-tasking.
  • To be successful, candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • WHMIS would be an asset.

Hours of Work

  • Caretakers are needed for a variety of shifts 7 days per week, which could include: Early: approximately 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm
    Days: approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Afternoons: approximately 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Nights: approximately 9:30 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Compensation

  • The wage ranges from $19.79 - $22.87 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
  • Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.
