Job Description

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Provides leadership and drives the strategic direction and thought leadership for the discipline of supplier management (including Professional Fees, SOW contracts, and Third Party Software License Agreements) across Finance IT to increase value from suppliers by strengthening relationships, governing performance, and providing key reporting; provides overall management of delivery and execution on an integrated approach to supplier governance, management processes, tools and reports
  • Translates the supplier management vision into high level scope, design and executables and facilitates/manages the gathering of business requirements for solutions to achieve vision; partners with leads to implement and support processes ensuring compliance with RBC supplier management policies and goals
  • This role will be a senior team member of the Business Management Office, also responsible for supporting and contributing to the overall planning team function and administration shared service for Finance IT
  • Act as an expert and execute supplier management governance requirements and best practices within Finance IT; support the strategic direction for Finance IT supplier management (relationship management, performance management, risk management, innovation management) for process, tools and people, and in alignment with the T&O Supplier Management Office, the Global Supplier Management team and in coordination with the E&IA Supplier Delivery Management Office (i.e. for vendor PARs as required)
  • Determine and provide reports to the Finance IT VP and the leadership team and analyze supplier performance to ensure value for services/spend; collaborate with the Finance IT’ Financial Management team to track supplier spend and track supplier cost savings
  • Owns the Finance IT contract intake repository, including pre-approval/ approval processes for all contracts in the Finance IT portfolio; performs analytics including predictive run rate forecasting, reporting, and any metrics related to supplier management, as well as developing beneficial reporting dashboards; works with the various lines of business to help drive an understanding of supplier metrics and forward-looking trends, as well as to guide recommendations and implement best practices
  • Interact daily across businesses on the full range of supplier management matters related to compliance, target tracking, multi discipline service quality, and transformational change (processes and technologies), as the Finance IT central point of contact for the T&O Supplier Management Office, the Global Supplier Management team and the E&IA Supplier Delivery Management Office (i.e. compiling and consolidating data as necessary), as well as the central point of contact for all teams in the Finance IT portfolio, providing guidance and support for supplier management needs (i.e. coordinate information dissemination across Finance IT)
  • Lead and participate on planning initiatives as required to support the Finance IT portfolio (i.e., communication session support, community action team activity, ad hoc reporting)
  • Collaborate with supplier management partners (E.g. GFT Supplier Delivery Management, T&O Supplier Management) on a range of supplier management matters related to compliance, target tracking and transformational change (processes and technologies) to ensure Risk and Regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with Procurement to review Technology contracts to ensure that they are specific and measurable.
  • Oversee contract execution for contracts not requiring procurement’s review. (as per Standards). Responsible for initiating and obtaining all necessary approvals

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have:

  • 5-7 years of proven Supplier Management experience (relationship, governance, performance)
  • 5-7 years’ experience in strategic relationship management, delivery performance analysis, and negotiations
  • 2-4 years in the financial services or other regulated industries, , working at the management level
  • University degree, or equivalent combination of education and supplier management experience
  • Strong business and financial acumen plus operational mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships / partnerships, with the ability to coach and partner across a matrix organization

Nice-to-have:

  • Some knowledge of technology and automation tools
  • Formal supplier management certifications\designations
  • Sound judgement and initiative (dealing with complex and sensitive policy, regulatory and compliance management matters)
