Admin & HR Intern

to join our team in Markham, ON as part of the Midea America Canada Corporation!

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and versatile intern to assist with various responsibilities related to HR, administration, IT support, and expense claim processing for our senior executive team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of business operations.

Reporting to the Manager - HR & Administration, the ideal candidate will be self-starter, detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills.

What you’ll be doing:

Responsibilities:

HR Support:

Assist with recruitment processes such as internal job and scheduling interviews.

Help with onboarding new employees by sending out regular onboarding emails, assisting in setting up orientation sessions,

Assist in updating HR databases such as Basic Information Form as needed.

Assist in performing UAT of various HR & Administrative system.

Assist in filling up system and process survey issued from HQ.

Assist in validating the invoices of the Fitness Reimbursement Claim.

Admin Support:

Provide general administrative support such as managing and procurement of snacks and office supplies.

Assist with scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements, and coordinating events.

Help with maintaining a clean and organized office environment such as daily clean up of coffee machine and microwaves.

Assist in organizing company events such as Tuesday Groove-up, festive events, annual conference and dinners.

Assist in Newsletter preparation.

Assist in preparations of posters, signages, reminder memos.

IT Support:

Coordinate with our IT contractor and provide basic IT support to employees, such as connecting the printer, setting up Midea Chat at the mobile device.

Help with managing IT inventory and tracking equipment.

Expense Claim Processing:

Assist senior executives with preparing and submitting expense claims in a timely manner.

Assist in ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Help with tracking and reconciling expense reports.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources, IT, etc.).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of business operations and provides an opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment.
