We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position ofPlasma Operatorwithin our Nisku, ABlocation. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports directly to the Plant Coordinator.
**Branch Address:**701 15th Avenue T9E 7L5, Nisku
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo pre-employment testing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Cut and package steel parts as per customer specs
- Inspect and measure all material to verify conformance to customer specifications using instruments such as tape measures, calipers and micrometers
- Ensure that equipment is operating properly
- Ensure all pre-shift inspections are completed
- Operate overhead cranes & Forklifts
- Perform weekly, monthly & annual maintenance on machines
- Work efficiently and safely to ensure deadlines are met
Education and Skills Required:
-Minimum 2 years experience operating plasma/oxy fuel torches
- Previous experience in a steel shop considered an asset
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Forklift & Overhead Crane experience an asset
- Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure / caliper
- Reliable
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop drawings and other documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Self-Motivated & Customer Service driven
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
Shift Hours: 7-3:30pm, 3:00-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am (Rotating every 2-4 weeks)
Wage: $30.00/hr to start, $32.00/hr after 3 months

We purchase products from North American steel mills, independent manufacturers of flanges, valves, fittings, pipe and tubular goods and other accessories, international steel mills or other distributors.
Steel Distributors Our steel distributors act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis. The main steel products sourced by this segment are carbon steel plate, flat rolled products, beams, channel and pipe.
