Are you an experienced Commercial Lines insurance professional who thrives on solving complex risks, supporting brokers, and delivering exceptional client outcomes?
We're looking for a Commercial Marketer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource for our Commercial Brokers, providing expert guidance throughout the commercial sales and placement process. You'll evaluate commercial risks, review applications, align coverage with market appetite, and help brokers secure the right solutions for their clients.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, sound underwriting judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach. What does the Commercial Marketer do?
Review Commercial Lines applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with underwriting guidelines and market appetite. Evaluate commercial risks and provide recommendations that align client needs with appropriate insurance solutions. Act as a technical subject matter expert, supporting Commercial Brokers with complex risks, market placement, and underwriting questions. Review quotes, compare coverage options, and validate carrier portal quotations to ensure appropriate coverage, limits, and occupancy classifications. Guide brokers in using commercial building valuation tools, Applied Rating Services, and commercial quote-to-bind platforms. Ensure underwriting decisions comply with company standards, carrier requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with brokers to resolve application discrepancies and obtain any outstanding information required for placement. Stay current on carrier products, underwriting trends, market appetite, and emerging commercial risks. Deliver training, coaching, and technical guidance that strengthens broker knowledge and commercial expertise. Support commercial growth initiatives by partnering with assigned branches and helping achieve sales objectives. Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and broker experience. Assist with escalated commercial files and collaborate on complex underwriting decisions when required. Build strong relationships with internal teams, insurance markets, and branch partners while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing culture.

You'll Be Successful If You Have
Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex commercial risks. Confidence making underwriting recommendations and explaining decisions professionally. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify technical insurance concepts. A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to support the success of others. Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting service standards. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A commitment to delivering an exceptional broker and client experience. The adaptability to navigate changing market conditions, underwriting guidelines, and technology. A continuous learning mindset with a passion for improving processes and expanding technical expertise.
Required
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. RIBO Licence (Level 1 or higher). Minimum 3 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience. Experience working with a Broker Management System (such as Applied Epic, Power Broker, TAM, or SIGXP). Experience using Applied Rating Services. Strong understanding of Commercial Lines products, underwriting practices, and risk management.
Assets
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
