Garland is looking for a Logistics Coordinator.
This position requires a highly motivated and self-driven individual to work as our Logistics Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily shipping, receiving and other logistics-related tasks. This role requires effective communication skills, attention to detail, and an overall understanding of the Supply Chain environment.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Logistics II, this position is based in Garland's Mississauga, Ontario facility and is 100% based in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily communication with 3PL warehouse on shipping and receiving, main point of contact for customers, carriers, and warehouse
- Provide daily shipment orders to the warehouse
- Ensure shipment BOLs are accurate, and invoice shipping orders daily
- Oversee customer Returns, processing correct system returns and confirming CSRs have proper approvals and documentation
- Work closely with Garland Purchaser and 3PL warehouse validating all product is received accurately
- Assisting CSRs in confirming proper delivery requirements for shipments
- Scheduling carrier pickups and deliveries within Canada and US
- Communicate with Customs Broker and warehouse on inbound overseas container shipments
- Effectively handle and provide information to all CSRs regarding carrier tracking, quotes, and deliveries
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma, equivalent College Certificate, University Degree, or relevant certifications preferred (CITT or equivalent)
- Minimum 3-5 years with background in transportation, logistics, inventory control
- High level understanding of supply chain principles
- Proficient in Excel – able to do basic and intermediate formulas / calculations
- Proficiency in Word, Microsoft Teams, Google Docs, Outlook, knowledge of WMS program
- Ability to review, interpret data and extract to present concise information and status’
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comprehension of transportation freight calculations
- Knowledge of transportation regarding transit time, carrier quotes and pickup/delivery procedures
- Understanding of warehouse activities – picking, staging, loading
- Geographical knowledge of Canada / GTA
- Knowledge FIFO inventory requirements
- Understanding of customs documentation and terminology
- Positive and Professional attitude with team members and carriers
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-structured team environment
- Able to prioritize based on requirements of the team
- Ability to work with outside partners and maintain a high-level relationship
- Detailed orientated, ability to review daily documentation for accuracy
- Capability to quickly resolve any issues that arise
