Requisition ID: 180857 Job Level: Internship Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Department: Field Operations Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Temporary Position Overview As part of the Site Establishment team, the Project Coordinator Co-op will report to the Senior Project Manager and will assist in coordination and management of various new buildings, including Fabrication Building, Warehouse and Administration Building, etc. This role will require continuous communication with all project team members and will provide supports to team members on various administrative tasks. District Overview Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management and construction provider operating across North America. Our experience spans all aspects of the nuclear market from carbon-free, small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental and nuclear security mission capabilities. With these broad capabilities, we operate in the power utility, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure markets. Location This project is located on the DNNP site in the Municipality of Clarington, in the Regional Municipality of Durham.Responsibilities
Assist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction and engineering. Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur and before release to construction. Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures. Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow. Provides status and progress reports to project team, and management. Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the project. Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads. Maintain high standards related to final product quality. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc. Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications. Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. Interfaces with team members to provide project status reports and ensures project needs are met. Other duties assigned. Qualifications
Pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) is preferred. Proficient written (report writing) communication skills. Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team. Knowledge of Aconex, Bluebeam, Excel is an asset. Able to read blueprints is an asset. Valid G license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to work in-person at site office/trailer. Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
