About the role

The Peace River School Division is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year, all subjects, grade levels and locations. Additionally, there may be opportunities throughout the school year for short and long-term temporary teaching contracts.

Qualifications**:**

  • Must hold or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Applicants must be eligible to work and teach in Canada
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license as traveling will be a requirement of employment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Following the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
  • Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long-range planning.

Please note: Practicum reports and/or teaching evaluations may be requested.

Substitute Teacher Rate of Pay:

  • Based on the current , substitutes are paid $235.02 per day; $ 141.01 per half day.
  • Consecutive Grid Day Rate (5 or more days for the same teacher): 1/200 annual salary grid rate.
