Keyera is seeking a skilledLead Operatorto support operations at theSouth Cheecham Facilitynear Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role provides operational leadership on shift, ensuring effective shift communication, safe work execution, and strong collaboration across the operating crew.

Working closely with the Operations Supervisor, operators, and other stakeholders, the Lead Operator helps strengthen operational reliability, support continuous improvement, and foster a positive, safety-focused team culture.

This position follows a 14x14 rotational schedule, working days and nights, in a camp-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, on-shift leadership to the operating crew, promoting a strong safety culture and reinforcing operational discipline.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities between the Control Room and Field Operations teams to support safe and efficient facility performance.
  • Support safe work execution by reinforcing procedures, hazard awareness, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across the shift team to ensure alignment on priorities, risks, and operational status.
  • Maintain situational awareness of facility operations and respond to safety-sensitive or operational issues as they arise.
  • Assist operators with troubleshooting process and equipment issues to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Work closely with the Operations Supervisor and other stakeholders to support operational reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe operations and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates a people-centered approach to physical and psychological health and safety.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in facility operations.
  • ABSA Fourth Class Power Engineering certification (minimum requirement).
  • Previous control room experience is required.
  • Strong hazard recognition and risk mitigation skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations associated with facility operations.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
