About the role

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent acute care hospital pharmacy technician experience, particularly in the area of medication selection, non-sterile compounding, checking, and narcotics handling. Current sterile products experience with current AHS aseptic validation. Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated computer and word processing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated working knowledge of Willow Pharmacy (Connect Care). Demonstrated clinical experience supporting direct patient care through medication reconciliation. Demonstrated experience with Pyxis. Membership in a pharmacy professional organization. Demonstrated commitment to lifelong professional learning.
