Position Details: In this elementary leadership position, you will collaborate with the principal to lead sustainable initiatives that improve student achievement and enhance a safe and caring school culture aligned with the District’s Education Plan . You will foster an environment of instructional excellence, where staff thrive in helping all students reach their full potential. Some of your responsibilities will include maintaining student records, aligning staffing and budgets, and managing timetables and schedules. In addition to administrative responsibilities elementary vice-principals will also have a teaching assignment.

Your ability to build relationships will be essential to your success in this position. You will be expected to establish meaningful connections with students, staff, families, and the wider school community, including inherent rights holders and stakeholders. As a champion of equity and inclusion, you will proactively identify and address barriers to student achievement, creating an environment where all learners feel valued, respected, and supported through inclusive practices.

You bring a wide repertoire of skills including a deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction, which enables you to guide teachers in adopting evidence-informed strategies that enhance learning outcomes for all students. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are crucial, as you will navigate complex situations, mediate disputes, and implement fair solutions that prioritize the well-being of students and staff.

Along with having completed, or working towards, a Master’s degree in a related field, you hold a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate, have successful performance evaluations, and a positive employment record free of discipline and regular attendance. You have diverse experiences, which you have gained through working in a variety of schools, communities, and roles. This has not only contributed to your understanding and appreciation for diversity and inclusion but is exemplified in your daily practice.
