Technical Lead – Python & Data Platforms who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to guide the design and delivery of scalable, data-driven systems. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for both technical direction and active development. You will lead the architecture and implementation of Python-based applications and data platforms that power analytics, automation, and insight generation across Escalent. You will serve as a technical authority and team lead, mentoring engineers, establishing best practices, and driving delivery excellence while remaining closely engaged in coding, system design, and complex problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Platform Development Lead the design, development, and deployment of Python-based applications and data platforms Own technical architecture, design patterns, and coding standards across Python services and data workflows Design and build scalable data pipelines, APIs, and platform components supporting analytics and business applications Contribute directly to hands-on development, debugging, and complex system design Guide development of data-intensive and ML-enabled solutions, including analytics, automation, and insight-generation tools Data Platform & Engineering Excellence Architect and optimize data pipelines and processing frameworks (batch and/or near-real-time) Ensure efficient integration across structured and unstructured data sources Establish best practices for data quality, governance, scalability, and observability Partner closely with Data Science and Analytics teams to productionize models and workflows Team Leadership & Delivery Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development Drive code quality through reviews, testing standards, and engineering discipline Partner with Product and Delivery leadership on sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and capacity alignment Ensure predictable delivery, balancing speed, quality, and technical sustainability Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Data Science, and Infrastructure teams Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement Champion best practices in:CI/CD and automated testing Performance, scalability, and observability Secure coding and system reliability Stay current with evolving technologies in Python ecosystems, cloud platforms, and data engineering tools Drive improvements in development processes, tooling, and platform efficiency Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 8–12 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience in a hands-on Technical Lead or senior engineering role Strong expertise in:Python and modern frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask) Object-Oriented Programming and software design principles Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, production-grade systems and data platforms Strong knowledge of:Data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data architecture concepts REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience working in Agile development environments Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with:Data engineering tools (e.g., Airflow, Spark, or similar frameworks) Machine learning workflows or model deployment Containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Exposure to:Data visualization or reporting frameworks AI/ML-enabled platforms or automation solutions Familiarity with domains such as market research, analytics platforms, or data-intensive applications We offer: Equal opportunity employment, applicants of all ages and lifestyles welcome Salary Range 140,000 To 180,000 Per Year A benefit package that includes medical, dental and life insurance coverage Remote-first (virtual) employment Equipment & LinkedIn Learning License for all employees
