The Opportunity The Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) Administrator is responsible for overseeing the CAEC in Ontario, including the testing centre, administration, credentialing, and guidance counselling. This role manages all functions related to the CAEC by working closely with the CAEC Testing Centre Supervisor to ensure an efficient and problem free operations. The CAEC Administrator is the liaison between the Testing Centre (administration, testing and counseling) and their provincial or government ministries.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Liaise with Alberta CAEC and respective testing centres to determine best practice and implement processes consistently.
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the CAEC Applicant and student assessment databases and testing centre to achieve accurate data and compliance with established standards and regulations. Manager and review result test forms and records.
  • Manage and provide direction to the CAEC Supervisor and Guidance Counsellors, ensuring functionality, productivity, and development.
  • Respond and resolve escalated matters.
  • Assist with yearly budget by providing financial reports and data, forecasting and reconciling quarterly projections of test site expenses
  • Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and services (guidance, assessment and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Academic Services in the development, implementation and review of CAEC policies and procedures pertaining to guidance services and other duties as assigned.
  • Liaise effectively with students, teachers and parents, and work collaboratively with colleagues, and various groups and committees, on matters regarding guidance services.
  • Supporting the Director of Business Administration and Partnerships with the annual negotiations for rooms and rates for test sites.
  • Support the Director of Academic Services as required.
  • Oversee fiscal and yearly contracts and amendments for CAEC Examiners, Proctors and test sites

What You Will Bring To TVO

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified and in good standing
  • Completed University Degree or College Diploma (2-3 yr. programs) from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in adult education
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience
  • Five years progressively responsible administrator experience
  • Excellent English (written, oral) communication and listening skills with well developed, collaborative interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service practices, cultural sensitivity, equity awareness, good judgement, tact and diplomacy when dealing with the external and internal parties
  • Experience with scheduling activities, negotiations with internal and external parties, with effective problem resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and numeracy skills with a keen attention to detail and a proven ability to handle competing priorities and work efficiently and effectively under time constraints
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work comfortably, efficiently and effectively as part of a team or independently
