Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include:
- Efficient operation and maintenance of the power unit, machinery, and equipment on the vessels
- Keep the engine room and machinery spaces clean
- Other duties involve maintaining daily logs and checklists, and reporting the daily status of vessels and equipment
- Identify and correct malfunctions and perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- May be required to complete reports for collisions, mishaps, or unusual occurrences
- Participate in security watches during non-operational periods and assist with docking and vehicle stowage as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Third Class Marine Engineer or higher
- A minimum of two years of experience as a 3rd class engineer on ferries, tugs, or similar vessels is required, or a combination of education and related experience
- Up-to-date Seafarers Medical Certificate
- Required certifications include an up-to-date Marine Emergency Duties Level "D" training certificate and a Marine Basic First Aid Certificate (or the ability to obtain one within two months)
