About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

The Plumber/Gas Fitter is responsible for performing inspections, skilled maintenance, repair, and fabrication work on facility structures, plumbing systems, gas lines, sprinkler systems, and related components. This role ensures safe, reliable operation of equipment and infrastructure by conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on structures and facility components.
  • Complete plumbing, gas fitting, and pipe fitting repairs in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and record findings.
  • Repair equipment in both field and shop environments.
  • Fabricate components and complete product enhancements as required.
  • Actively participate in workplace safety activities, including hazard assessments and safety meetings.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing reliability, efficiency, and safety.

About You

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification Plumber.
  • Gasfitter Class B Certification.
  • Several years of hands‑on experience performing plumbing and gas fitting work in residential, and commercial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing plumbing systems, fixtures, gas lines, burners, boilers, and related equipment.
  • Experience completing preventative maintenance tasks and documenting inspection results.
  • Proven history of working safely in environments with exposure to adverse weather, hazardous conditions, or confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and building/gas codes.
  • Skilled in diagnosing system failures, pressure irregularities, leaks, component wear, and inefficiencies.
  • Ability to perform fabrication work, including pressing, cutting, threading, soldering, and assembling pipe systems and fittings.
  • Proficient in using trade‑specific tools, testing equipment, and measurement devices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documenting maintenance activities, completing reports, and managing communication.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment such as lifts, scaffolding, and power tools.

Working Conditions

  • Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 14 day on/14 day off rotation with accommodation provided during rotation.
  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
  • PPE always required.
  • Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
  • Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
