What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Due Diligence (DD) team within RBC Capital Markets. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative group responsible for reviewing and improving the quality of KYC information collected for new and existing institutional clients. If you’re detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about compliance, this role gives you a chance to make a real impact on the effectiveness of our client onboarding and ongoing due diligence processes.
What will you do?
- Support the Quality Assurance program by reviewing KYC files and identifying areas of improvement.
- Provide recommendations to improve file quality and ensure alignment with KYC standards and regulatory expectations (OSFI, FINTRAC, etc.)
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support quality findings and escalation processes
- Work closely with KYC Operations, Compliance, and business teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Participate in quality trend analysis and suggest process improvements Contribute to training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the Due Diligence team.
- Assist with reporting metrics and dashboards to track quality outcomes
- Support ad hoc quality improvement projects as assigned by the Director, Due Diligence.
- Complete KYC refresh due diligence on assigned files, including information collection from clients and public sources, name screening, risk scoring.
- Track on KYC systems and report on file progress including percentage completed, sign off status, pending responses, and action plan to obtain necessary information.
- Provide support to other DD staff and respond to day-to-day questions as they relate to client review efforts and the implementation of efficiency and quality initiatives.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Strong knowledge of KYC/AML processes and regulatory standards OSFI, FINTRAC, and other applicable Canadian regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to assess risk, exercise sound judgment, and make recommendations
- Strong communication skills to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant operational tools
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in Capital Markets or working with institutional clients
- Understanding of quality assurance or audit methodology
- CAMS or equivalent AML certification
- Bachelor’s degree such as LLB or equivalent; or para-legal background
