As a Senior Auditor in Internal Audit and Financial Certification, you will act as an expert advisor to managers, guiding their decision-making by providing recommendations aimed at increasing profitability, optimizing operational efficiency and effectiveness, and minimizing business risks. Your understanding of business issues will enable you to offer advice that supports effective risk management and helps resolve emerging challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the execution of assigned mandates by developing audit strategies and procedures that consider the magnitude of inherent risks in business processes, banking operations, and large-scale projects.
  • Apply audit techniques and procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Set priorities to meet budgets and identify solutions to issues that may lead to overruns.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors from various areas of expertise to carry out integrated process audits.
  • Draft audit reports and present them to management.
  • Guide others in internal control management. Possess extensive experience in appropriate controls for managing a variety of risks, helping the organization become more aware of control practices.
  • Be able to align the organization’s risk appetite with appropriate control measures.
  • Understand advanced theoretical concepts and best practice requirements underlying corporate governance. Challenge processes and practices to incorporate external governance best practices.
  • Actively adhere to the methodology with minimal guidance and advocate for its use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management) or a relevant related discipline.

  • Recognized professional designation (CPA, CISA, or CIA).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Internal Audit or External Audit (in a firm).

  • Good knowledge of Regulation 52-109.

  • Solid understanding of professional standards and COSO/COBIT frameworks.

  • Experience in reviewing and improving business processes (an asset).

  • Excellent judgment, listening skills, interpersonal abilities with colleagues and clients, strong team spirit, reliability, and respect for deadlines.

  • Leadership skills and the ability to effectively influence others toward achieving objectives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Autonomy, ability to manage priorities, and openness to change.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Bilingual* (spoken/written) in French and English.

  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
