As a Senior Project Management Consultant, you will provide consultative, advisory, and advanced project leadership services to clients across the City, including senior management, project and program managers, sponsors, and a broad range of interested parties both internal and external to the organization. You will also mentor and guide Project Managers to support the City's Project Management Policy, practices and framework. Primary duties include:
- Provide consultation and advice to clients on managing complex initiatives, including key business and project activities such as business case development, project and program charters and management plans, strategy and process implementation, and risk management.
- Help lead projects and programs and evaluate and supervise the work of project managers, project team members, and external consultants to keep these projects on track.
- Support and guide Project Management Consultants on the team by providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Work with internal partners to improve business processes and performance.
- Work with Civic Partners and the City's wholly owned subsidiaries to support the preparation of framework and strategy documents required for collaborative initiatives between City and its partners.
- Prepare and present formal reports and supporting materials to the Executive Leadership Team and other senior leaders in the organization.
Qualifications
- A degree in Project Management or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in a complex management environment.
- A Project Management certification, such as a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, is considered a stron asset.
- Experience in strategic planning, organizational change management, mentoring, coaching, strategy and framework design and development is essential.
- The successful candidate will have strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and organizational skills, demonstrating an ability to work easily with leaders from all levels of the organization as well as external parties.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Position Type: 1 Permanent
- Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
