Role Description The Nuclear Welding Inspector is a full-time, on-site role located in Brigden, ON, responsible for ensuring welded components and piping systems meet nuclear industry codes, standards, and client specifications. Day-to-day tasks include performing visual and dimensional inspections of welds, reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications, and verifying compliance with quality control and quality assurance requirements. The role involves preparing and maintaining detailed inspection reports, documentation, and traceability records, and collaborating with welders, supervisors, and engineering staff to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions. The Nuclear Welding Inspector will also participate in pre-job planning, support audits and regulatory reviews, and promote a strong safety and quality culture in the fabrication shop and field environments.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills, with experience implementing and maintaining QC/QA processes in industrial or nuclear settings. Candidates should possess Welding Inspection skills, including visual inspection techniques, interpretation of weld symbols, and familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, CSA, nuclear-specific requirements). Candidates should possess practical Welding knowledge, enabling effective communication with welding personnel and understanding of welding processes, materials, and procedures. Candidates should possess Inspection skills, including documentation of findings, use of measuring tools, and adherence to regulatory and client specifications. Relevant certifications such as CWB or equivalent welding inspector credentials, and nuclear-specific qualifications (e.g., experience with nuclear QA programs) are beneficial. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work safely in industrial environments are required. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil divisions, are preferred. Previous experience in nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial projects and familiarity with QAQC documentation systems

Our main shop is a drive through style with materials entering the front door and a finished product exiting the rear doors. Equipped with two 10 ton and two 15 ton capacity overhead cranes, 20 state of the art welding stations and a workforce with a skill set next to none, there is no project our fabrication shop cannot accomplish.
