About The Role As ATB’s next TRBK Senior Developer , you're a key technical leader responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of robust SAP ABAP solutions, with a focus on core financial/banking applications. This role ensures high-quality, scalable code is delivered through rigorous technical standards and code reviews, driving the integration of domain solutions that directly support critical business functionality. The Senior Developer is accountable for maintaining system quality, performance, and transparency throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Additional Information Candidates must be able to attend in-person meetings at ATB locations in Calgary/Edmonton based on business needs.
Accountabilities
- Apply advanced, creative problem-solving techniques to translate software designs into high-quality, scalable, and maintainable production solutions.
- Drive the development of core domain solutions, ensuring seamless integration with services and platforms owned by other technology domains to support end-to-end business capabilities.
- Establish and maintain rigorous code quality standards by leading the development and implementation of automated test harnesses and continuous integration practices.
- Actively contribute to ideation and strategic planning sessions, leveraging technical expertise to devise creative, innovative, and disruptive digital solutions that align with future business goals.
- Ensure development predictability and transparency by diligently tracking and updating work progress across diverse project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tracking tools (Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheets, etc.).
- Own and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all technical documentation, including artifacts required for system deployment, ongoing maintenance, support procedures, and business requirement traceability.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience in SAP ABAP Programming
- Experience supporting or developing solutions within an SAP application (SAP Banking Services/TRBK knowledge is a significant asset).
- Proven experience in leading development efforts and executing thorough code and design reviews.
- Proficient in application maintenance and monitoring, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ensuring security standards.
- Working knowledge of Data Governance, Data Privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
