Under close supervision, IT Co-op assists customers and clients with Personal Computer and related network issues. Tasks may be performed at the end-user's location or remotely to troubleshoot, maintain, install, repair or modify PC hardware and software. Provides timely and creative solutions of basic to moderately complex issues to ensure end-user productivity. Maintains accurate information and data regarding end-user issues within the tracking system and according to policies and standards.

Reporting to the IT Director, this position is 100% based in office at our Mississauga, Ontario, facility. This is a full-time, contract role that is an addition to headcount. The contract will be from 6 months to 12 months.

Major Accountability:

  • Assists internal customers with PC and network-related operations issues.
  • Provides timely, creative and accurate solutions to ensure end-user productivity.
  • Maintains accurate information regarding end-user issues within the tracking systems

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and updates in the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Assist with setup, configuration, and deployment of workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Repair security vulnerabilities identified in the assets based on the security portal.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment and assist with asset tracking.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes by preparing and decommissioning IT equipment.
  • Monitor and report potential security risks or breaches in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving IT equipment to remote users and sites.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support the IT department’s operations.

Qualifications

  • Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers, servers, and related operating environments.

  • Attention to detail, excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work under close supervision

  • Education and Experience

    • 0-1 years of work experience, supporting IT related tasks and responsibilities.
    • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science
  • Working Conditions

  • Heavy computer use.

  • Normal office environment; must be able to sit for long periods

  • Must be able to stand/walk/sit for extended periods.
