COMPENSATION:$39.81/hour (PG 9 CUPE 339)
**DAYS:**Monday to Friday
**LOCATION:**On-Site
**HOURS:**7:00 AM - 3:15 PM
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Chief Water/Wastewater Operator, this position is responsible for the operation and maintenance key water and wastewater assets including raw-water intakes, the Mountain Station Water Treatment Facility, pressure reducing valves, wastewater lift stations, and the Grohman Narrows Wastewater Treatment Facility in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)

Level 1 Water Distribution Certificate
-
Level 1 Wastewater Treatment Certificate
-
Level 1 Wastewater Collection Certificate
-
Level I First Aid
-
Pleasure craft operator certificate
-
Level 1 Water Treatment Certificate
-
Confined Space Entry Certificate
-
Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
-
WHMIS
-
Transportation of Dangerous Good Certificate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
-
Ability to interact with other employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner
-
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
-
Ability to interact and operate SCADA control systems
-
Ability to interact with and use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
-
Ability to operate related equipment and tools used in the operation and maintenance of the assets described above
-
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks according to competing demands
-
Working knowledge of electricity and electrical motors
-
Working knowledge of pump principles, maintenance and repair
-
Ability to operate in a computerized environment; current telemetry; word processing and spreadsheet software
