Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority – Yellowknife Region (NTHSSA) is one of eight health and social services authorities established by the Department of Health and Social Services in the Government of the Northwest Territories.

NTHSSA – Yellowknife Region delivers and administers Population Health, Primary Health Care and Social Services programs in the communities of Dettah, Fort Resolution, Lutselk’e, Ndilo and Yellowknife.

Job Information

The Manager Budgeting and Variance Reporting (Manager) performs comprehensive reporting of Northwest Territories (NWT) Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA)/(Authority)¿s budgeting and variance reporting processes. This includes the projections along with monitoring current expenditures. The Manager oversees the development and consolidation of variance reporting and budgeting standards. The Manager also manages the NTHSSA Chart of Accounts (CoA) and ensure financial data integrity.

As a senior staff member, the Manager works closely with program directors, clinical operations, and other corporate service teams across the NTHSSA to align financial practices with organizational goals. The position upholds rigorous financial standards and provides guidance, coaching, and performance management to a team with diverse skill levels, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous improvement.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in Accounting and Finance along with a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation in good standing and (5) years of financial management experience and at least (1) year of management and supervisory experience.

The following education is considered equivalent:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Management
  • Master of Business Administration, Finance, Management, or Accounting

The following designation is considered equivalent to a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant Designation:

  • Canadian Chartered Financial Analyst
  • Canadian Certified Internal Auditor
