**Position:**Technology Summer Worker
**Position Type:**Full-Time Seasonal; 39 hrs/week
Mon - Thurs: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
**Term:**June 6, 2026 - August 21, 2026
**Location:**Based out of the Grasslands Central Office in Brooks
Travel to multiple school locations throughout the division will be required.

**ABOUT THE POSITION:**We are seeking a Technology Summer Worker to support the Grasslands Technology Department in preparing for the 2026/2027 school year.
This position will work independently to perform mobile device maintenance and other technology-related tasks at various school locations. Qualifying mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with Grasslands’ travel reimbursement policy.
The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong technological aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. They will also be reliable, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills. Previous experience in IT or technology maintenance is considered an asset but is not required.

We have three elementary school locations within the City of Brooks and seven rural locations throughout the County of Newell in addition to seven colony school locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of maintenance tasks at multiple locations, such as:
- Sanitize and inspect mobile devices (Chromebooks, iPads) for damage
- Unbox, prepare, and provision Chromebooks for student and classroom use
- Assist with other technology installations, equipment setup, upgrades, and maintenance tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a program related to Information Technology, Networking, Computer Systems, or a related field is considered an asset
- Previous experience with IT infrastructure deployment or maintenance is an asset
- Basic Technological aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
IDEAL CANDIDATE SKILLS & ABILITIES
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A willingness to learn new technical skills and take initiative
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate any issues
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain quality standards when performing repetitive tasks for long periods
- Ability to identify potential hazards and follow safe work procedures in accordance with Grasslands and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) protocols
- Capability to work in a physically demanding environment, including periods of prolonged standing or sitting
- Periods of prolonged standing or sitting
- Uphold responsible, respectful, and professional conduct in alignment with the division’s policies, values, and expectations.
