The Advanced Workflow Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing technical and application sales support for the Life Science Research Confocal as well as some advanced widefield products. Support will be provided to Leica’s Life Science Research customers, Sales Specialists, and Account Managers in all aspects of their selling activities. This includes, but not limited to coordinating and supporting customer support on all confocal products, remote and on-site product demonstrations, and workshops.
Additionally, the Advanced Workflow Specialist consults with customers and sales/applications specialists to deeply understand and provide extensive application support on issues related to general microscopy; performs remote online troubleshooting and training sessions with end customers and sales reps; supports exhibitions, workshops and coordinates short course support, including planning, communicating, teaching and reporting; handles demonstration system logistics and confirms correct system functionality; and processes customer provided samples and develops methods to address specific customer needs.
This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and is part of the LSR Sales team located in Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON. It will be fully remote, primary coverage area: Canada and Midwest US with occasional travel to US or Germany.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Partner with the sales team on needs analysis, demos, and customer engagements to drive revenue
- Plan and deliver product seminars, workshops, and training for customers and internal teams
- Provide expert product, application, and software support across sales, service, and customers
- Triage, document, route, and resolve technical issues arising from customer interactions
- Develop imaging protocols and generate field data, application notes, and publications that differentiate Leica solutions
The essential requirements of the job include
- Master’s or PhD in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline and 3+ years of hands-on experience in a research environment using advanced microscopy and digital imaging OR Bachelors degree in a related scientific discipline and 7+ years of hands-on experience in a research environment using advanced microscopy and digital imaging.
- Proven experience training others on advanced imaging systems and techniques
- Deep understanding of biological imaging applications and end-to-end workflows
- Strong communication skills with customer-facing support and troubleshooting experience (hardware/software) preferred
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- This position requires up to 70% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but will occasionally be international.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.

The annual salary range for this role is CAD80,000.00 - CAD90,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
