ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill and Experience)
Registered Respiratory Therapist classification (RRCP).
- Licensed with the College of Respiratory Therapists (Ontario).
- Experience in cardiac and pulmonary diagnostics performance.
- Member of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (General Certificate).
- 1-2 year critical care experience.
- 1-2 years neonate experience.
- 1-2 years recent acute care experience preferred.
- Satisfactory attendance.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES (Personal Skills and Attributes)
- Ability to function within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written.
- Ability to be adaptive/creative in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within the legislated scope of practice of a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRCP).
- Working knowledge of computerized patient documentation/systems workload management.
- Able to work independently and establish priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to function within an interdisciplinary care model.
- Demonstrated ability to support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centred Care.
- Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.
- Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
- All Housekeeping duties related to custodial work, and Infection Control.
- Performance of cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic testing.
- Respiratory therapy support in critical care and general acute care and neonate care.
- Critical care transport; air and land.
- Delivery of education; hospital staff, patients, community.
- Technical support related to respiratory therapy.
As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
