About the role

Our client is an established construction firm, currently seeking a Procurement Manager to help foster strong vendor partnerships and help lead their purchasing operations.

Location: Burnaby, BC

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Expected Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the procurement function, including team recruitment, training, and performance development
  • Work with project, estimating, and operational teams to align sourcing with technical, budget, and schedule needs
  • Manage supplier selection, evaluation, and ongoing relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service
  • Oversee contract negotiations, supplier agreements, and compliance with organizational and risk-management standards
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and departmental budgets
  • Support internal teams with pricing, sourcing, and material or equipment recommendations
  • Resolve supplier issues, manage claims, and oversee rebate or value-added programs
  • Maintain and improve procurement databases, pricing records, and system workflows
  • Lead procurement system implementation, enhancements, and training
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and support organizational goals

Requirements :

  • At least 8 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field; professional certification or ongoing training is an asset
  • Extensive experience in senior purchasing or sourcing roles within a technical or project-driven environment
  • Proven leadership experience managing procurement teams and supporting cross-functional groups
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and risk
  • Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems; experience with platforms like JD Edwards is beneficial
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making abilities
