Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo is seeking to hire a Business Area Manager for its Industrial and Process Analytics division. As a BAM, you will report directly to the General Manager of Mettler Toledo Canada, based in Mississauga, ON. You will lead and oversee Marketing, Sales, and Service operations for the Industrial and Process Analytics Business Area, providing vision, strategic focus, and full P&L responsibility. You will drive continuous growth in sales and service of Industrial Weighing equipment across various industries including pharma, chemistry, food, OEM, metal, machinery, and logistics. You will inspire teamwork, motivation, and commitment ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Create and communicate a clear vision for leadership in Marketing, Sales, and Service.
  • Develop and implement long-term business strategies and short-term tactics.
  • Prepare comprehensive annual plans including goals, market assessment, competitive evaluation, and financial budgets.
  • Review financial performance regularly and adjust business plans as needed.
  • Direct operations to achieve business area targets and performance goals.
  • Foster a strong market presence to differentiate METTLER TOLEDO's operations from competitors.
  • Promote teamwork and professional development within the business area.
  • Build and maintain external business partnerships and networks.
  • Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with MT North America and Global teams to develop strategies for growth, especially in automation solutions and OEM markets.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in engineering, business, or a related field, with 7-12 years of management experience across multiple functions and organizational sizes. You should have led diverse teams across different management cultures and held top responsibility for major ventures in both growing and contracting environments.
  • 10-15 years of leadership experience in line management, sales, or operations with a proven track record of success in complex roles.
  • Focus on results, accountability, and high achievement motivation.
  • Strategic influencing skills with an adaptive and flexible leadership style.
  • Business manager mindset with responsibility for overall business performance and financial ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% (domestic and some international).
