ADVANCED QUALITY ENGINEER (AQE) The AQE is responsible for managing, coordinating and assisting in the activities of the process relating to PPAP and NMRs at Plasman. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with above average communication and organization skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing deadlines for PPAP and NMRs, by working closely with plant locations.
  • Support approval and development of new vendors related to PPAP process, i.e. gauge design, GD&T reviews, and continuous improvement activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure project and /or process control documentation is compliant, e.g. Control Plans, test procedures, data record sheets, etc., as required. Communicate all master timeline milestones accordingly.
  • Submit/Coordinate sample parts for appearance, DVP&R, NMRs, AAR, etc. as needed. Develop and communicate master and boundary samples as needed.
  • Conduct/coordinate/analyze all data collection related to the PPAP and NMRs of new/revised products. (e.g., Capability Studies, Part Dimensional Data, Gage R&R, etc.). When unacceptable conditions result, coordinate countermeasures.
  • Promote continuous improvements by attending feasibility reviews, identifying risks in design process, and incorporating into the Lessons Learned Database (LLDB) as necessary.
  • Assist in Operator training, creation of work instructions, support on new product launches at plant sites. Update quality systems and procedures, reference and training tools ensuring compliance to all internal and external processes.
  • Participate in all New Model readiness reviews with Customers as support to Program Managers, as required
  • Ensure personal and associate understanding of all quality and business-related operating systems (ISO/IATF).

Qualifications, Education & Skills We're Looking For

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a Quality or Engineering related field, is preferred; a combination of education, training and years of working experience will be considered.
  • Quality and quality accreditations (e.g. ASQ CQE/CQM, ISO, AIAG, etc.) is desired, or working towards achievement.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automotive Engineering or Quality.
  • Experience in customer OEM PPAP requirements.
  • Blueprint reading, SPC skills, and MS Office Skills are required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and software, such as Minitab or equivalent.
  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.

This position offers a compensation range of $85,000 – $95,000 dependent on skills and experience.
