The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry provides outstanding education within a research-intensive, distributed learning environment, where tomorrow’s physicians, dentists and health researchers and other scholars learn to be socially responsible leaders in the advancement of human health. The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff.

The Department of Paediatrics encourages and develops innovative research in a collaborative setting focusing on child health. Our undergraduate and postgraduate education programs enrich the student experience to provide the knowledge and skills needed to ensure exemplary care across multidisciplinary paediatric sub-specialties. Exceptional specialized clinical care is provided to children in South Western Ontario from faculty committed to child health.

This role will be filled by an internal candidate.

##Responsibilities

The Program Assistant provides administrative support to multiple Paediatric Programs, including Paediatric Fellowship programs in Genetics, support to the Rural Paediatrics Committee and other tasks as assigned by the Managers in Paediatrics. The role is reponsible for general administration, including provision of assistance with teaching and meeting scheduling/booking, as well as Zoom setup, tracking and following up on evaluations. The successful applicant will assist with organizing rotations, assessment of residents, portfolio, program evaluation, faculty evaluations and Maintenance of Accreditation.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Community College Diploma in Business Administration: Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience providing administrative support in a business office setting

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
  • Self-motivated multi-tasker with strong organizational skills
  • Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and follow through on work assignments
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
  • Written and verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of the English language
  • Customer service skills to understand customer needs and expectations, with a desire to deliver helpful and reliable service to the University community
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of one45, Elentra, Zoom, and other evaluation tools will be an asset
