About the role
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles meals at the conveyor belt.
- Prepares and portions foods such as sandwiches, salads, shakes and desserts.
- Retrieve necessary food and non-food items for entrée stations for breakfast and lunch
- Responsible for pushing completed Retherm carts into holding area and placing them in the warming/cooling system prior to transport to patient floors
- Responsible for removing the patient food trays from the tray carts and then scraping the food from the dishes and dividing the dishes, cups, cutlery, and plates
- Strips, soaks and washes patient trays and contents, following established procedures.
- Unloads clean dishes/cutlery from the Large Dish machine, soaking any dirty dishes in the 3 sinks in the dish room, loading the PODS with clean plates and delivering all of the clean items to the proper location in kitchen area for reuse.
- Cleans and sanitizes all work areas, equipment, utensils and floors, following established procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes large kitchen equipment including pots, pans, and aluminum trays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous related experience is food production services required.
- Must have a Valid Food Handler's Certificate.
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English.
- Must be physically able to perform duties required, including pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, bending, etc.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in a team setting is an asset.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance record
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to do some heavy lifting of metal racks, trays, over-sized containers
- Ability to push and pull heavy carts up to 31 lbs.
- Frequent bending, standing, reaching and grasping.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environment.
Shift/Hours of Work: 7.5 hrs**.** Must be available to work mornings (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), days (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and evenings (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.), including weekends and holidays.
