Your Impact

OpenText’s global Source-to-Procure (S2P) team helps maximize value from OpenText’s vendor relationships and ensures our internal stakeholders have the goods and services they need to succeed. The Sr. Manager, Global Travel& Expense Management will lead and optimize our end-to-end global travel, credit card and expense programs. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless, cost-effective, and compliant travel and expense experiences for our global workforce. Reporting to the Director, Vendor Management& Operational Sourcing, you will manage vendor relationships, T systems, drive policy development, leverage data analytics, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of both programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in travel, expense& card program management as well as vendor management.

What The Role Offers

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive data-driven travel, expense and card program strategies that align with companywide goals and objectives.
  • Evaluating and managing relationships with T vendors to ensure favorable contracts and secure best-in-class services.
  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of T policies, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements, and promoting responsible spending practices among employees.
  • Analyzing travel and expense data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for program improvement. Preparing and presenting regular reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Collaborating with IT and relevant stakeholders to implement and optimize systems and tools, ensuring seamless integration with existing company systems.
  • Collaborating across business groups and geographies to identify and achieve operational goals while managing potentially competing priorities.
  • Developing and delivering training programs for employees on travel policies, card usage, and best practices to enhance compliance and user experience.
  • Monitoring and assessing travel risks, working with relevant teams to develop strategies to mitigate such risks and ensure traveler safety and compliance.
  • Implementing and managing feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the T experience.
  • Managing escalations and resolving issues promptly.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate travel management, expense& card management, or related field, ideally within a global organization, and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of travel and credit card industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with experience managing financial data, planning and reporting for global corporate travel and card programs.
  • Ability to manage communications across the entire spectrum from Executives to the broad employee population.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Advanced digital literacy including proficiency in using T tools (ie. Concur Expert), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to rapidly changing environments and demands.
