What you will do…
You will provide a high standard of friendly customer service to all participants in accordance with YMCA standards. You will build positive relationships to establish rapport and maintain excellent communication with staff, volunteers, and members.
You will ensure all assigned areas are cleaned promptly and regularly with high attention to detail. This includes cleaning and stocking changerooms and washrooms (showers, toilets, and common areas), sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping facility floors, and operating equipment such as the auto scrubber machine. You will also wash, dry, and restock towels, dispose of garbage, dust, and polish surfaces, and refill dispensers (soap, paper products, etc.). Maintaining cleaning supplies and completing other duties as assigned will be part of your role.
You will follow all health and safety measures, including proper use of PPE, safe operation of equipment, and handling of industrial cleaning agents with strong personal safety awareness. Your attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent quality work will ensure our facility meets our high standards for cleanliness. This physically demanding position requires flexibility, organization, and high energy. You will attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
What you will bring…

Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar environment.

Ability to use various cleaning tools and equipment, including auto scrubber machines.

Ability to take direction, work well with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.

Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment.

Physical requirements include frequent climbing of stairs, some physical exertion, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

WHMIS certification and Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED are assets.
