Full job description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs and providing insights that drive financial decision-making within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and proficiency in various accounting software. The Cost Analyst will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance. Must have SAP, for data collection and reporting.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations to communicate findings to management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Monitor cash flow and assist in cash flow analysis to ensure financial stability.
Perform account reconciliations including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
Analyze accounts payable and accounts receivable to optimize cash management.
Utilize ERP systems and accounting software such as SAP, for data collection and reporting.
Analyzing changes in COGS due to product design, raw materials, operational/manufacturing methods, to determine effects on cost
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and cash flow analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP.
Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment
Must have a strong Cost systems background, have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
University Degree or College Diploma and Actively pursuing CMA / CGA Designation, or equivalent experience.
