GRADE SCHOOL STUDENT SUPPORT CHAIR/ EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT
Permanent | Full-time (40 hours 1.0 FTE) Whistler Waldorf School is seeking an experienced and organized Student Support Chair / Educational Assistant to support student learning and inclusive education across the school. This full-time role begins in August 2026 and includes approximately 24 hours per week as Student Support Chair, with the remaining hours as an Educational Assistant. Annual salary: $50,000 to $70,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities. The role includes coordinating student support services, leading the EA team, supporting IEP development and implementation, assisting with literacy intervention, and providing direct classroom and student support. The preferred candidate will have:
- Classroom experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in inclusive education and student support.
- Student support experience: Experience coordinating support services and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Team leadership: Experience leading, managing, or supporting a team of Education Assistants.
- Literacy support: Experience supporting literacy intervention and diverse learning needs.
- Qualifications: EA training is an asset, and BC Ministry of Education certification, or eligibility to apply, is preferred but not required.
- Organization and administration: Strong administrative and organizational skills, with relevant training in leadership, program coordination, or student support.
- Professional relationships: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with parents, colleagues, students, and staff.
- Eligibility: Legally able to work in Canada and in possession of a current Criminal Record Check.
