The Opportunity

The International Education and Jurisdictional Initiatives branch within the ministry is seeking a strategic, highly motivated, results-oriented individual for the position of Senior International Analyst. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential in this role, which focuses on developing effective policies and programs that enhance outcomes for international education and support the continued growth of Saskatchewan’s post-secondary education sector.

In this role, the successful candidate will lead and support:

  • Critical policy research, development, data and trend analysis, in response to international education policies.
  • Providing senior leadership with strategic, evidence-informed recommendations on international education policy and its implications for the province’s post-secondary education sector.
  • Facilitating collaborative discussions and consultations with the federal government, provincial/territorial governments, and the post-secondary sector on international education policies.
  • Contributing to the development of government strategies related to international education and connecting broader government initiatives to respond to the needs of Saskatchewan’s people and economy.

Our ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Lead complex projects and provide advice, analysis and recommendations on a variety of strategic issues related to international post-secondary education in Saskatchewan.
  • Develop and implement public policy, including briefing materials, environmental scans, and Cabinet documents to inform decision-making and recommendations for various leadership levels.
  • Collaborate with other organizations, colleagues, and individuals to develop positive working relationships, policies and protocols, address issues and establish partnerships.
  • Communicate, verbally and in writing, to transform research and data analysis into presentations, policy proposals, and briefing materials.
  • Organize, manage and prioritize multiple, complex tasks and projects, taking into consideration conflicting and changing priorities to meet deadlines.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a master’s degree in business, social science, public administration, or education along several years of experience in strategic policy development and collaborative project management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered as well. Previous experience working in the post-secondary sector is considered an asset for this role.
