We’re looking for an energetic, motivated individual to join our Edmonton team as a People & Culture Business Partner. The ideal candidate thrives on challenges, is passionate about making a positive impact, and is ready to contribute fresh ideas while supporting the seamless execution of our People and Culture programs. The day-to-day activities of our People and Culture Business Partner will include:
- Employee Experience & Communication Champion– Create a positive employee journey by actively supporting human resources initiatives throughout the entire employee lifecycle. Foster strong communication by ensuring HR programs, documents, and updates are clearly and proactively shared within the organization, cultivating engagement and understanding at every touchpoint.
- Talent Acquisition Focused– Lead and support end-to-end recruitment, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all candidates as they transition to becoming valued BGE team members and hiring managers as need support through the process.
- Employee Life Cycle Support – Assist your team and business unit with employee retention efforts by managing benefits, analyzing compensation, providing training and development opportunities, and implementing recognition programs.
- HR and Payroll Data Analysis – Collaborate with the payroll team and use Dayforce HCM to deliver workforce and data insights that support business decision-making.
- Generalist Multi-Tasking – Offer ongoing assistance to employees by addressing HR inquiries, giving straightforward explanations of policies, and helping resolve workplace issues. Provide leaders and team members with actionable advice in a timely manner, considering employment laws and best practices.
The right candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications on their resume:
- 4+ years of professional human resources experience in HR Generalist functions.
- Although formal HR education is beneficial, candidates who demonstrate solid knowledge and experience in HR principles, best practices, employment law, and hands on experience are highly valued.
- Demonstrated experience in developing communication strategies for employee experience, including proficiency in drafting and executing communication plans.
- Experience using AI tools or simple automation (e.g., workflow optimization, document drafting, templates, or system efficiencies) is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Dayforce and prior experience in payroll support will be immediately recognized.
During the interview process, we will assess the following behaviors and skills:
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication at all organizational levels
- Excels in administrative tasks by efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and accurately managing multiple responsibilities within set timeframes.
- Collaborative mindset: Focus on building positive and united relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Priority Driven: Understanding deadlines and importance based on needs is critical for maintaining the in the department. Juggling multiple priorities while keeping a keen attention to detail we will want to see.
