About the role

This shunt schedule runs Friday to Sunday. Shift is 1800 to 0630 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

  • Hourly rate: $22.25 + $3-night premium, 36 hour work week with 4 hour top up as required to 40 hours per week
  • Must be Flexible to fill-in other shifts when needed
  • Hours of work might change from time to time according to operational demands
  • Reporting directly to Shunt Coordinator then Property Service Supervisor
  • Essential responsibilities are trailer movement, trailer staging, trailer quick-checks, and trailer greasing, along with other general shop/yard duties
  • Responsible for operation of the forklift and assisting on the dock when needed. Training will be provided.
  • Works closely with Shunt Coordinator , Property Services, Fleet Maintenance Manager, Highway and City dispatch, maintenance and the warehouse on daily shunting activities

Candidate Profile

  • Company Driver residing in Mississauga or immediate area
  • Tractor-trailer over the road driving experience, minimum 12 months
  • Previous shunt truck driving experience is an asset
  • Well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Comfortable with smartphone technology for emailing and texting
  • Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
  • Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual
