About the role
This shunt schedule runs Friday to Sunday. Shift is 1800 to 0630 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Hourly rate: $22.25 + $3-night premium, 36 hour work week with 4 hour top up as required to 40 hours per week
- Must be Flexible to fill-in other shifts when needed
- Hours of work might change from time to time according to operational demands
- Reporting directly to Shunt Coordinator then Property Service Supervisor
- Essential responsibilities are trailer movement, trailer staging, trailer quick-checks, and trailer greasing, along with other general shop/yard duties
- Responsible for operation of the forklift and assisting on the dock when needed. Training will be provided.
- Works closely with Shunt Coordinator , Property Services, Fleet Maintenance Manager, Highway and City dispatch, maintenance and the warehouse on daily shunting activities
Candidate Profile
- Company Driver residing in Mississauga or immediate area
- Tractor-trailer over the road driving experience, minimum 12 months
- Previous shunt truck driving experience is an asset
- Well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable with smartphone technology for emailing and texting
- Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
- Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
- Reliable, flexible, and punctual
