CMM Programmer Technician

Position Summary:

The CMM Programmer Technician is responsible for writing CMM programs and performing layouts of sample and prototype parts in the die-casting and machining areas in accordance with the applicable drawing specifications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and develop CMM programs using MCOSMOS software.

  • Dimensionally layout parts using CMM and conventional measuring equipment.

  • Provide assistance with calibration and re-certification of various inspecting gauging masters and fixtures.

  • Support engineering, die-casting, and machining departments for drawing interpretation as well as dimensional checks as requested.

  • Train Quality Auditor team members on CMM setup/programs as required.

  • Troubleshoot issues in both CNC and die cast departments.

  • Required to travel to other locations in Stoney Creek and Hamilton.

  • Flexible to adjust working hours when required

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma/training in quality with 3 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

  • Completed CMM operation and programming training an asset.

  • Proficiency in interpreting manufacturing drawings with GD&T specifications.

  • Computer literate with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to trouble shoot minor hardware/software issues (CMM related).

  • Must possess good mathematical skills. Experience in geometry and trigonometry an asset.
