Your Team:

Join Flair’s In-Flight team, where safety oversight and regulatory coordination support compliant cabin operations across the network. Reporting to the Manager, Cabin Safety, the Cabin Safety Coordinator provides coordination and administrative support across the department’s safety, security, and regulatory functions. This role supports the effective execution of internal processes related to In-Flight SMS case delegations and the administration of cabin safety processes.

The Cabin Safety Coordinator ensures timely coordination, documentation, and tracking of cabin safety-related activities to maintain alignment with internal policies, processes, and procedures.

This role is based on-site at the Edmonton (YEG) or Calgary (YYC) office.

A Day in the Life:

The duties of theCabin Safety Coordinatorinclude:

  • Act as the focal point between In-Flight Operations and Cabin Safety to ensure communication and alignment for all aspects of Cabin Crew Member reporting as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual
  • Daily review of the In-Flight Service Reports to verify the corresponding Safety Management System and OHS reporting requirements have been met. When required, conduct follow-up with Cabin Crew Members to ensure submissions are completed.
  • Administer delegated safety cases according to the parameters in the SMS Policy for investigation, corrective action completion timelines. Ensure accuracy and completeness of case submissions, including required forms.
  • When required, coordinate case activities with other Flair divisions (i.e., Flight Operations, Maintenance, Airports, Security, OHS, Customer Experience). Work collaboratively with departmental personnel to investigate issues and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor MedAire In-Flight case summaries for corresponding Cabin Crew Member SMS submissions. Reconcile the MedAire summaries with SMS reporting and update internal MedAire tracking.
  • Support the administration and coordination of safety investigations, ensuring documentation, follow-up actions, and record-keeping are completed in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Handle sensitive safety case information with high discretion and integrity.
  • Maintain the Safety Key Performance Indicator of less than 10% overdue In-Flight safety cases on a week-over-week basis
  • Monitor In-Flight cases for trends and update the quarterly SMS review tracker. Escalate emerging trends to the Manager, Cabin Safety. Participate in developing safety content for the In-Flight departmental communications.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of initial and annual training records, identifying deficiencies and communicating required corrective actions to the Manager, In-Flight Training.
  • Review draft amendments to the Flight Attendant Manual to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory alignment.
  • Draft Flight Attendant communications, including memos and safety-related notices, for leadership review and distribution.
  • Compile and organize documentation in response to internal and external audit requests, including regulatory reviews (e.g., Transport Canada, TSA).
  • Provide project coordination and administrative support for In-Flight safety initiatives, as directed by the Manager, Cabin Safety.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role:

-Education:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as business administration, aviation, safety, compliance, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Additional training or certification in Safety Management Systems, Quality Assurance, or aviation regulatory compliance is considered an asset. -Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in cabin safety, in-flight operations, or a related aviation safety function within a regulated airline environment.
  • Demonstrated experience administering or supporting Safety Management System (SMS) processes, including case coordination, documentation review, corrective action tracking, and compliance monitoring.
  • Proven experience reviewing and validating safety reports, investigating operational occurrences, and ensuring adherence to established timelines and reporting standards.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance activities, including audit preparation, documentation compilation, and interaction with regulatory bodies such as Transport Canada or equivalent authorities.
  • Experience handling sensitive safety and personnel information with discretion, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and support the development of safety communications and mitigation strategies. -Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in documentation and data review
  • Ability to maintain strict compliance with confidentiality protocols and data protection policies
  • Ability to interpret and apply cabin safety regulations, policies, and procedures to safety case management
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and contributing to department efficiency
  • Adaptable and dependable, with the ability to respond effectively to changing operational requirements. -Requirements:
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
