As a Lead Value Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping customers realize the true business potential of their investments in OpenText technologies—whether through optimized processes or new capabilities.

In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate on strategic accounts alongside regional sales teams, developing opportunities and driving revenue expansion.

This role is virtual in Toronto, ON. What The Role Offers

  • Conduct industry and account research to understand customer circumstances.
  • Plan and facilitate virtual or onsite consulting engagements to analyze business processes.
  • Identify and quantify business improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend a roadmap for improvement and deliver Business Value analysis.
  • Take responsibility for and lead in the identification of organizational value drivers and serve as a customer-trusted advisor.

A DAY IN THE LIFE Based in Canada (Toronto area), you'll collaborate closely with an experienced, international team of Value Engineers. You'll work alongside Account Executives, Solutions Consultants, and Cloud Architects, you will pinpoint key value drivers and offer strategic guidance to everyone from operational teams through to C-suite executives.

You will engage directly with customers to build executive relationships and conduct discovery workshops to understand customer strategy, challenges, and priorities.

You will bring and use knowledge and experience across technical, financial and sales disciplines to engage customers and build strong business cases which translate technology into quantifiable business benefits and value, articulating where this value will be seen, how it can be measured and what the expected value gain would be.

You will benefit from internal and external training programs to continuously develop your expertise in the Value Engineering discipline.

Core Experience WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in enterprise software sales, business development, or management consulting.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise solutions.

Financial & Business Acumen

  • Familiarity with financial modeling (IRR, NPV, ROI, TTV), cash flow analysis, and business case development.
  • Ability to refine existing financial models to adapt to business and technology evolution.

Consulting & Communication Skills

  • Exceptional communicator able to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Skilled listener with a consultative approach to relationship-building and problem-solving.
  • Strategic mindset, adept at identifying and validating organizational challenges.
  • Proven ability to leverage customer research to develop targeted account strategies.
  • Experienced in facilitating customer workshops to uncover key opportunities.
  • Flexibility to occasionally support international engagements, including potential travel.

Additional Assets

  • Experience with Cybersecurity solutions.
  • Fluency in French.
