K2 is seeking an Investment Analyst to join a lean and experienced investment team. Reporting directly to senior Portfolio Managers, the Analyst will be a key contributor to the investment process, sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring ideas across the full breadth of K2’s strategies. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside experienced investors with institutional pedigrees spanning various institutions and leading asset managers. The successful candidate will gain direct exposure to principal investing across multiple asset classes in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment. In keeping with K2’s culture, analysts are given the opportunity to personally invest in the Fund and share in the upside they help generate. Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Position Title: Investment Analyst In the role, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Idea generation and screening across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and special situations
- Financial statement analysis and in-depth due diligence on public and private companies
- Building and maintaining financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, comps, LBO, M&A)
- Monitoring portfolio positions; preparing investment memos and performance summaries
- Conducting industry and thematic research across sectors, including natural resources, technology, healthcare, and consumer
- Supporting senior Portfolio Managers on event-driven opportunities: risk arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, SPAC, and activist situations
- Tracking capital markets activity, regulatory filings, and news flow relevant to portfolio positions
Please note that the salary does not include total compensation. The expected salary range for this position will be influenced by the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
We would love to work with you if you have:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in investment banking, equity research, hedge funds, asset management, or private equity

CFA designation (or active candidate) considered an asset

Undergraduate degree required

Demonstrated ability to generate independent investment ideas with strong conviction

Experience with financial modelling and valuation; Bloomberg and FactSet fluency
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Python or other analytical tools is an asset

Exceptional written and verbal communication — ability to articulate investment concisely
