Primary Care Paramedics – Paramedic Services

Status: Up to 100 opportunities available, including Regular Full-Time, Temporary Full-Time, and Temporary Part-Time positions.
Rate Of Pay
- As of April 1, 2026: $49.66/hr – $52.75/hr
Hours of Work: Days, Peaks, Nights (12-hour shifts) – up to 42 hours per week. Flexible part-time schedules and long/short-term full-time assignments following platoon rotations.

- Virtual Interviews: January 6 – 23, 2026
- In-Person Scenarios & Driving Test: February 6 – 20, 2026

What You’ll Need To Succeed
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified to work as a paramedic in Ontario as per the Ambulance Act
- Diploma in Ambulance and Emergency Care OR graduate from an approved Ontario Primary Care Paramedic training program
- Ministry of Health A-EMCA certification (or A-EMCA pending) or Equivalency Certificate
- Valid Ontario Class “F” license OR proof that a Class F road test has been booked no later than February 1, 2026 OR equivalent that meets the requirements of the Ambulance Act
- Applicants must hold a successful Ottawa Paramedic Physical Abilities Test (OPPAT), Ontario Paramedic Lifting Evaluation (OPLE), or Paramedic Functional Abilities Test (PFAT). Physical assessment must be valid at the time of job offer. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact:

- Proof of immunization against communicable diseases, along with proof of immunity via serology completed in the year of hire (per clause 6(1)(h) of O. Reg. 257/00 under the Ambulance Act)
- Paramedics who are currently certified and working for at least 2 years in another Ontario service may be eligible to bypass certain stages of hiring, such as the written exam, scenarios, and/or the driving test. Certification MUST remain active until cross-certification with Sunnybrook Regional Base Hospital. Resumes must include the currently assigned OASIS number.
