- CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Job Responsibilities: As the Dual Ticked Welder/Machinist, you will be performing portable line boring, welding and grinding duties for rebuilds and repairs on Caterpillar Equipment in both the shop.
Maintain Caterpillar Mining Equipment in a shop environment
Set up, operate line boring equipment and measuring tools to complete the weld build up, fitting and related tasks Component rebuild and repair, weld, grind, re-machine bores, some manufacturing Perform routine maintenance work Occasional work at heights and confined spaces Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Qualifications Journeyperson Welder Certification Journeyperson Machinist Certification Proven line boring experience Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial Important Details This position is based out of Mildred Lake Shop facility on a 14x14 continuous days/nights shift Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
